Social Security and Other Federal Benefits
If you receive Social Security or other Federal Benefits payments and decide to move to Latvia, please report your change of address to your local claims office promptly.
Although you can request that your check be mailed to Latvia, we would suggest that you consider having your check directly deposited to your U.S. bank account and that you use an ATM card to access your account while in Latvia.
If you chose to have your check mailed to you in Latvia, you should be aware that, because of the distance and additional handling involved, you will receive your check later in the month than would be normal in the United States.
