Military Music in Doma square

Riga, June 21, 2007 – On the evening of June 30th, the public is encouraged take part in America’s birthday celebration by attending the joint concert of United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) rock band “Touch ‘N Go” and Latvian National Armed Forces (LNAF) saxophone quartet at 19:00 in Dome Square.

Since 1976, USAFE “Touch ‘N Go”- also called the ‘musical Ambassadors of America’ - has toured in many parts of the world, playing the best of pop, rock, country and R&B as part of troop support, public concerts and festivals, as well as embassy and military functions. During their concert in Riga, they will play jointly with members of LNAF saxophone quartet, which was formed 7 years ago and is one of the oldest ensembles of the LNAF orchestra.

Ambassador Catherine Todd Bailey noted: “This performance, in concert with our partners from the Latvian Army, will be yet another testimony of our close cooperation not only as allies in NATO but also in the area music. I hope that everyone will enjoy the enthusiasm and American flair that “Touch ‘N Go” brings with them to Riga.”
