Riga, June 8, 2007 – Within the framework of the Baltic Regional Energy Forum, on Tuesday, June 12th from 11:15 to 11:45 at the Press Center at the Latvian Society House, the United States Ambassador to the EU Boyden Gray, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia Aigars Kalvītis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia Andrus Ansip, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Deividas Matulionis, and EC Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs will participate in a joint press conference. The press conference will take place on the 3rd floor after the first session of the Forum, which is devoted to strategic development of energy sector in the Baltic States.

Media representatives are additionally invited to cover the opening of the Forum on June 12th at 09:30, when United States Ambassador to Latvia, Catherine Todd Bailey, will deliver the opening address, as well as to follow the sessions of the Forum on June 12th and June 13th.

The Baltic Regional Energy Forum will welcome guest speakers from the governments of the Baltic States and the United States, as well as from major energy companies. The forum is devoted to a variety of energy-related issues, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, and nuclear energy.
