The U.S. Ambassador Announces Baltic Regional Energy Forum (EDITED)
Riga, April 11, 2007. – On Friday, April 13, at 11:00 at the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers, the United States Ambassador to Latvia Catherine Todd Bailey, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia Aigars Kalvitis, and representatives of the Baltic Economic Forum will announce the Baltic Regional Energy Forum to be held in Riga on June 11-13, 2007.
The Forum will be devoted to issues related to the strategic development of the energy sector in the Baltic region. Guest speakers at the forum will include the Prime Ministers of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, EU Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs, senior representatives from the United States Government, as well as representatives of major energy companies. The three-day event will focus on a variety of crucial issues, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, nuclear energy, and other key topics.
Ambassador Catherine Todd Bailey has said: “The United States Embassy is proud to cooperate with our partners in the Latvian government and the Baltic Economic Forum on this very significant event.
