U.S. Ambassador and Economic Minister to Announce Trade and Investment Conference
Riga, April 5, 2006. -- U.S. Ambassador Catherine Todd Bailey and Economics Minister Krisjanis Karins will hold a press conference on Thursday, April 6, to formally announce a trade and investment conference targeted at U.S. companies and investors that will take place in Riga on May 22nd and 23rd. The trade and investment conference is being organized by the Latvian Investment and Development Agency and its counterparts in Lithuania and Estonia.
Ambassador Bailey and Minister Karins will each speak to the importance of the conference and provide some preliminary information on themes and attendance.
“We have commitments from some of American’s most prominent companies to attend this event in Latvia,” commented the Ambassador. “This conference will be an ideal forum for Latvia and the Baltic States to show U.S. companies and investors how many business opportunities there are in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. The conference will also, I hope, bring additional U.S. trade and investment to one of Europe’s most dynamic economic regions, which we hope will translate into even stronger economic growth and additional job creation for the people of the Baltic States.”
The press conference will take place at 1:15 pm at the Economics Ministry, Brivibas 55.
