The U.S. embassy announces the visit of the U.S. District Court Judge Charles R. Simpson visit to Latvia
Riga, April 2, 2007. – The Embassy of the United States of America is pleased to announce the visit (April 2 until April 4) of Judge Charles R. Simpson III of the United States District Court of the Western District of Kentucky. Judge Simpson is a member of the Judicial Conference of the Federal Judiciary.
Judge Simpson will be delivering lectures at both the Riga Graduate School of Law and the University of Latvia. His topics include the structure of the US Court system as well as US and International Law. Judge Simpson will also be paying a visit to Turiba University.
The U.S. embassy has informed already about the two-day Judicial Conference entitled ‘Judicial Reform, Ethics, and Transparency’ and the visit of US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito to Latvia. Conference, which will be held in Riga on July 2nd and 3rd, is organized by the US Embassy in Latvia, the Supreme Court of Latvia, and the Ministry of Justice.
