The U.S. Ambassador announces the visit of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito to Latvia
Riga, Monday, March 5, at 14:30, U.S. Ambassador to Latvia Catherine Todd Bailey is pleased to announce the visit of US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito to Latvia. Justice Alito is a member of the US Supreme Court, the highest court in the United States. The US Embassy, the Supreme Court of Latvia, and the Ministry of Justice will be working together to host a two-day Judicial Conference entitled ‘Judicial Reform, Ethics, and Transparency.’ The conference will be held on July 2nd and 3rd. Justice Alito has commented, "I am delighted to be a part of this exciting event and look forward to my visit to Latvia. The Judicial Conference will, I am sure, be an interesting and informative forum."
In addition to Justice Alito, the US Embassy will be inviting several US legal experts and practitioners to participate in the conference. All members of the Judiciary of Latvia, the legal community, and students will also be invited to attend and participate in the conference. The US Embassy is very pleased that Justice Alito will be visiting Latvia and contributes to our shared goal of promoting the rule of law in Latvia.
