The U.S. Embassy Hosts Students for Shadow Day

Riga, February 20, 2007. – Wednesday, February 21, starting at 10:00 a.m., the United States Ambassador to Latvia Catherine Todd Bailey will welcome Latvian secondary school students for Shadow Day events organized by the U.S. Embassy.

Ambassador Bailey said, “I am delighted for an opportunity to host these students. Shadow Day will enable young people to learn something new about certain institutions and professions, as well as make decisions regarding their future educational and career choices. I am truly impressed by their dedication and the activities they have already involved in, and I am looking forward to sharing my day with all of them.”

During the day, the students will visit different sections of the Embassy, thus having a unique chance to learn about the Embassy’s work routine. Shadow Day is organized in cooperation with Junior Achievement Latvia, and the Embassy is particularly pleased to host students representing not only different regions of Latvia but also different nationalities.
