SECRETARY CLINTON: It is a great honor to welcome President Zatlers here today. We have a very close and important relationship with Latvia. It is a country that we admire. Its struggle and triumphs over difficulties during the last decades, its democracy, its freedom, its commitment to a better future are inspirational. We have a very positive bilateral relationship. We’re working closely on regional and even global issues. And I’m delighted to have this opportunity to have this bilateral meeting with you, Mr. President.
PRESIDENT ZATLERS: Thank you very much, Madame Secretary. It’s my great honor to be here again in Washington and take the chance to meet with the representative of the new United States Administration. And by the way, you have been a great friend of Latvia all the time, and I’m really very grateful for that. We appreciate your friendship. Latvia and the United States have been strategic allies since the beginning of independence, and we hope for the future sustainable cooperation and being a great ally. We appreciate your (inaudible).
