U.S.  Ambassador opens the 20th Century American Art Exhibition

On Wednesday, November 12, the U.S. Ambassador to Latvia Charles Larson opened exhibit 20th Century American Art from the Residence of the US Ambassador to Latvia. Wednesday at 17.00 p.m. a reception was organized to mark this event.

This collection of 20th Century American Art normally hangs in the official residence of the US Ambassador to Latvia, Charles Larson Jr.  The collection was developed by the United States Department of State’s ART in the Embassies program in collaboration with Ambassador Larson. The exhibition features works by Adolph Gottlieb, Robert Motherwell, Frank Stella, Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Edward Ruscha, and Andy Warhol, Donald Sultan, as well as photographer Christopher Makos.

The ART in Embassies Program is a unique blend of art, diplomacy, and culture. Established by the United States Department of State in 1964, the ART in Embassies Program is a global museum that exhibits original works of art by U.S. citizens in the public rooms of approximately 180 American diplomatic residences worldwide.
