Ceremony to Mark United States Turn at Baltic Air Policing

Riga, September 30, 2008 – From October 1 through December 31, 2008 the United States Air Force, representing the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), will undertake the responsibility of providing air policing for Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.   

To mark event, the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius has organized an orientation for media representatives on October 2, 2008 at the Zokniai Air Base in Siauliai.

The event will give journalists the opportunity to meet with representatives of the Governments of the United States and Baltic countries.  Representatives from the Lithuanian Government, the US Armed forces, and the US Ambassadors to Latvia and Lithuania will be in attendance.
