The Fulbright Scholars Program for Academic Year 2010 – 2011

The Fulbright Programs is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State and administered under policy guidelines by the William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
The Fulbright Scholar program offers grants for Latvian research scholars and university lecturers for up to 10 months who intend to research and/or lecture at U.S. universities in any field, except medicine, but including public health.
Eligibility requirements for all applicants:
- you must be a Latvian citizen, or the holder of a Latvian non-citizen passport (Dual citizens (United States and Latvia) are not eligible to apply for the program);
- you must already hold a Ph.D., degree, or be finishing your dissertation;
- you must have proficiency in English appropriate for the proposed lectures at the time of application (Fulbright Scholars are not required to take the TOEFL or GRE/GMAT tests);
- you must reside in Latvia during the time of application.
It is recommended that applicants have a letter of invitation from potential host university in the United States.
