2013 ECA Alumni Project Competition

2013 Call for Proposals

The U.S. Embassy invites USG sponsored program alumni to submit proposals for the 2013 ECA Alumni Project Competition

This annual competition supports alumni engagement on strategic priority themes including:

English language, youth leadership, public/private partnerships, democracy and human rights, economic opportunity and entrepreneurship, women’s empowerment, promoting a better environment, food security, global health, engagement of underserved populations, and outreach to marginalized communities.

Project activities must include USG sponsored program alumni, Foreign Service Officers from the U.S. Embassy Riga, other key professionals (journalists, educators, civil society law makers, etc.), and members of the general public.

Projects should also support one or more of the following additional ECA Alumni Program goals:

  • To foster alumni implementation and sharing of concepts they explored during their exchange programs;
  • To provide training that will improve ability of alumni to implement ideas;
  • To involve alumni in recruiting exchange participants, and/or promoting their exchange program, or study in the U.S. especially among non-traditional audiences or in coordination with the EducationUSA advising network;
  • To enable alumni to work collectively to share the benefits of their exchange experience with home country audiences and to "give back" to the program in which they participated.
