Ambassador Larson Visits Latvian Occupation Museum and Freedom Monument

The Museum details the occupation of the country by Soviet Russia then Nazi Germany and again by the Soviets from 1940-1991 and concludes with Latvia's struggle and eventual success in restoring its independence.

Following the visit, they paid their respects at one of the most significant symbols of Latvian independence, the Freedom Monument, by laying flowers at the feet of the statue.

The event received wide coverage in the Latvian press and media.
