The U.S. Embassy participates in the opening of the 9th Baltic International Summer School in Valmiera

Riga, August 6, 2007. – Today William Bellis, Public Affairs Officer at the United States Embassy in Latvia and Assistant Public Affairs Officer Ryan Roberts will visit Valmiera to participate in the opening ceremonies of 9th Baltic International Summer School. The theme of this years program is “The Future of Public Communication in the Age of New Media.”

Mr. Bellis is pleased to welcome Dr. Cindy Price, a lecturer at the University Of Wyoming Department Of Communications, who will conduct lectures during the Summer School on the following themes: “Does Gender Make a Difference?”, “ How Men and Women Differ Regarding Job Satisfaction and Why It Matters to Public Communication” and “How Public Relations Needs to Prepare for New Media.” The U.S. Embassy supported her visit to Latvia.

Dr. Price teaches courses in journalism and public relations and earned a PhD at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Her research interests include job satisfaction of journalists in the American broadcast and print media.
