  • U.S. Embassy Announces Annual Fulbright Fellowship Program

    The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the launch of this year’s competition for the Fulbright Foreign Student Program and the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for academic year 2014-2015. The Embassy encourages all qualified students and scholars to apply. 

  • U.S. Ambassador Visited Cēsis on a Regional Trip

    On May 9 Ambassador Mark Pekala made an official visit to Cēsis. During the visit he met with the Mayor of Cēsis, Gints Šķenders, and City Council officials. 

  • US TRANSCOM Commander and Other High Military Officials Visited Latvia and Received High Honors

    General William Fraser III, US TRANSCOM Commander, arrived in Latvia for a three-day visit. He met with government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs, Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks, and Minister of Transport Anrijs Matīss, as well as the Chief of Defense, Lieutenant General Raimonds Graube. 

  • U.S. Ambassador Visited Daugavpils

    U.S. Ambassador to Latvia Mark Pekala, payed a two-day visit to Daugavpils, during which he attended the opening of the Mark Rothko Art Center and visited the Polish Cultural Center, where he met with Žanna Stankeviča, Director of the Center, Rišards Stankevičs, Head of the Latvian-Polish Association, and Gaļina Smuļko, Principal of the Polish Gymnasium in Daugavpils.
